Classic Series: Package Dual Fuel (RQPW)
The Package Dual Fuel Unit. The Package Dual Fuel Unit is a package heat pump with a gas furnace installed in the heat section instead of electric heat that a standard package heat pump features. This hybrid package system allows for both comfort and energy savings by utilizing the electric heat pump for warmth, except in colder periods, which is when the gas furnace would take over to assure maximum comfort and energy savings.
The Scroll® Compressor. All of our residential package units - regardless of efficiency level - feature the Scroll Compressor. The scroll compressor uses a more advanced technology than traditional reciprocating compressors. They have fewer moving parts, and they are quieter, more efficient, and longer lasting.
Durable Cabinet with Louvered Condenser Compartment. Our cabinets have a painted finish that protects them from the harshest weather extremes. And our louvered condenser compartment is the best in the industry for protecting the condenser coil against yard hazards and weather extremes.
Grille/Fan Motor Mount. Our motor mount helps protect the fan motor from the elements for longer life. Its design dependability helps reduce vibration and noise.
Furnace Compartment. Located inside the easily accessible furnace compartment is the control box, draft inducer motor, in-shot gas burners, the gas valve and manifold. Control box operational controls are "up front" for quick access and service diagnostics. The draft inducer motor is specially designed to quietly provide combustion air while simultaneously venting outdoors the combustion products from the furnace heat exchanger. In addition to the draft inducer motor, the in-shot gas burners, gas valve and manifold efficiently regulate the flow of gas for combustion. These new Package Dual Fuel Units also feature direct-spark ignition and remote flame sensors for added dependability and efficiency.
Matched Blower/Evaporator Coil Unit. The blower is responsible for the flow of air into your ductwork. It has been designed to match the evaporator coil and other system components for maximum efficiency and quiet operation. In addition, the coil features rifled copper tubing and enhanced fins for improved efficiency.
Tubular Heat Exchanger. Our new Package Dual Fuel Units feature a tubular stainless steel heat exchanger design. Tubular heat exchangers are more efficient and durable than older-style clamshell heat exchangers. The factory standard stainless steel heat exchanger is backed by a limited lifetime warranty in residential applications.
Service Fittings. Exterior service fittings enable a serviceman to quickly determine unit operating conditions.
Classic Series: Package Gas/Electric (2-5 Ton) (RGEA14, RGEA15)
- All models feature Scroll® compressors for maximum efficiency and quiet operation. 5 Ton RGEA15 models feature UltraTech™ Scroll 2-Stage compressors with Comfort Alert™ diagnostics (see below), high/low pressure switches, and hard start kits.
- Louvered condenser compartment for protecting the coil against yard hazards and/or weather extremes.
- One-piece top with a deep flange to help keep water out of the unit.
- Supply and return air openings feature a one-inch tall flange to prevent water migration into the ductwork.
- Access panels have "weep holes" and channels to further help manage water run-off.
- Side and down discharge options available on all models.
- Easily accessible blower section complete with slide-out blower.
- Refrigerant connections are conveniently located for easy service diagnostics.
- Micro Channel evaporator and condenser delivers superior performance with less refrigerant charge and less weight than conventional copper tube/aluminum fin coils. Its easier to clean and has a more robust surface.
- Inside the easily accessible furnace compartment is the draft inducer motor. This motor is specially designed for quiet reliable operation. In addition to the draft inducer motor, the in-shot gas burners and manifold efficiently regulate the flow of gas for combustion. These new gas/electric units also feature direct-spark ignition and remote flame sensors for added reliability and efficiency.

- Our gas/electric package units feature a tubular heat exchanger design. Tubular heat exchangers are more efficient and durable than older-style clamshell heat exchangers. The heat exchanger is backed by a 10 year limited warranty. Models with a stainless steel heat exchanger installed in a residential application are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
